Why won't Amazon let me leave a review?

Three issues may prevent you from leaving a review. The most serious issue is that your account has been banned from leaving reviews because you have not adhered to Amazon's community guidelines.

Potential Issue #1: $50 Yearly Minimum Has Not Been Met

You may get a message like this from Amazon:
"We apologize but this account has not met the minimum eligibility requirements to write a review. If you would like to learn more about our eligibility requirements, please see our community guidelines."

This usually means that you have yet to spend the $50 per year that Amazon requires to be able to leave reviews. If this is the case, you can purchase anything on Amazon to reach that minimum, including Kindle or Paperback Books. Keep in mind if you buy a physical item that has to be shipped, your account will not be moved to the eligible status until they ship the item(s).

If you want to get a ton of tokens and meet the $50 requirement at the same time, you can filter our Review Library to show you books that require a purchase by selecting "Buy on Kindle" or "Buy Paper Book":

Potential Issue #2: You Have Violated Amazon's Community Guidelines And Lost The Ability To Leave Reviews

Amazon's Community Guidelines for leaving reviews prioritize unbiased and helpful feedback from genuine customers. Here are the key points:

  • Focus on the product: Reviews should focus on the product itself, not on individual ordering experiences, seller feedback, or packaging issues.
  • No promotional content: Reviews should not be written as a form of promotion, and individuals with financial or personal connections to the product or its creators should not post reviews.
  • No private information: Reviews should not have any private information like email or phone number.
  • No compensation for reviews: Reviews should not be posted in exchange for any form of compensation, including gift cards, refunds, review swaps, or free or discounted products. While GBR protects from this with our anit-review swap algorithum you can still violite this by using other services or techniques out side of GBR.
  • Maintain respectful language: Reviews should not contain profanity, harassment, threats, or attacks on other individuals or their opinions.
  • Medical claims: Amazon does not allow any statements or claims related to preventing or curing serious medical conditions or severe symptoms.

Potential Issue #3: You Have Done Unusual Activity on Amazon And Lost The Ability To Leave Reviews

If you got a message from Amazon like this:
"We apologize but Amazon has noticed some unusual reviewing activity on this account. As a result, all reviews submitted by this account have been removed and this account will no longer be able to contribute reviews and other content on Amazon.  If you would like to learn more, please see our community guidelines. To contact us about this decision, please email community-help@amazon.com."

This one is a very serious issue and it was most likely caused by you leaving too many reviews on Amazon in a short time period, or potentially for leaving AI generated or low quality reviews.

You can contact Amazon's support to see exactly why but there is a good chance you have had your account perminently banned.

In our history of GBR community members reporting this issue to us we have seen a consistant pattern where the member is using multiple book review serices (compeditors to GBR) at the same time. When you use other service in addition to GBR you completely bypass all the safety features we put in place. This is why our focus at GBR is on safely getting reviews in accordance with Amazon's terms of service instead of focusing on getting you as many reviews as possible. We know it's tempting to try to get a bunch of reviews really fast but it always looks suspicious to Amazon when you are getting tons of reviews while other author's in your genre are not. Please don't use shortcuts because you could get your account banned.
